Is Feidir Linn with BOI College Green Building!

From Michael on Sunday 29th May 2011

Proposals have been released this week by Mr Jimmy Denihan, Minister for the Arts, to convert the old home of the Irish Parliament into a historic and literary centre.

It is a move that could see one of Ireland’s leading banks giving directly back to the country, and one of Dublin’s landmark buildings becoming our next tourist attraction.

With the great Trinity Library and the Book of Kells next door, the hope is that this move could further enhance Dublin’s reputation as a world-wide literary hot spot.

The new Government hope that this will be a good follow up to Dublin being named a UNESCO City of Literature last July, and becoming one of only four such cities world wide to hold the honor.

Negotiations commence in the coming weeks as the bank look for further capital injections from the Government.

While in recent years, both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have spoken outside the famous venue, which once played part in some of the great debates of our time as the old home of the Irish Parliament.
